Munn Insurance had its start over a century ago in the early 1900s, and at that time we were known for providing our clients with exceptional service and the very best in value.
Munn Insurance was incorporated in 1949, just around the time that Newfoundland and Labrador joined confederation. So we are old and have been around a long time. But our team is young and dynamic — more than ready for our next phase of rapid growth; with plans to double in the next few years and expand into new markets.
From our origins as a department of W.A. Munn and Company Limited (cod liver oil producers and general merchants), we got our start in insurance by handling our own internal insurance needs. As customers we demanded value and as an insurance provider we delivered. This customer focus became part of our DNA and continues to guide the business to this very day.
Today, Munn Insurance is the largest independent insurance broker in the province. That means we work for you. Not the insurance company. We act as your personal advisor; providing unbiased advice on your individual insurance needs. The other guys answer to the insurance companies. We answer to you. So we always have your best interests at heart.
Munn Insurance is there for our communities. We assist numerous organizations throughout the province in achieving this goal. From food bank donations to scholarships for youth, Munn Insurance is committed to being a presence for good in communities across our great province.
Munn Insurance is a proud member of the following organizations:
Munn Insurance is there for kids’ futures. Our Future Goals Scholarship is a $40,000 education fund geared to assist youth associated with Mount Pearl Soccer.
The player who has the best combined scholastic achievement together with participation in the Mount Pearl Soccer Program(s) in a true sportsman-like manner will be considered for the scholarship. The name of the winner is also engraved on plaque which is displayed at the MPSA clubhouse.
The Scholarship is established to recognize outstanding contributions to the MPSA and community by our youth, as well as to encourage them in the pursuance of post secondary education with a high likelihood of academic success.
